- Do you need a reservation to visit a winery?
- At larger wineries walk-ins are usually fine for the tasting bar, but seated tastings and tours book out on weekends. Small family wineries often pour only when someone is there — a quick call ahead saves the drive.
- How much does a wine tasting cost?
- Most tasting flights run $10–$30 for four to six pours, and many wineries waive the fee if you buy a bottle or two. High-end estates in famous regions can charge $40–$75 for seated tastings.
- What is the difference between a winery and a vineyard?
- A vineyard is where the grapes grow; a winery is where wine gets made. Many estates are both, but plenty of wineries buy grapes from independent vineyards — and some vineyards have no winery at all.
